Becoming a Guitar Guru

  1. Create an appropriate title. Create a simple title that hooks the reader and explains what the blog post will be about.
  2. 2 week progress report
    1. What have you learned about your topic?
    2. What have you learned about yourself?
    3. Have you had any setbacks? How do you plan to handle them, or how did you already handle them?
    4. What are the next steps in your process?
    5. How can you apply anything you have learned to yourself, your school, your community, etc.?

I want to become a man who memories the basic ins and outs of the guitar. It has been a challenge so far and has not came easily. I have learned that there is more to it than just being able to strum the chords and knowing finger placement. Flow and rhythm are huge factors in being a guitar master. My goal is not to become a master though, that could take me more than a year. My goal is to master one song. I learned that I need to manage my time better, A LOT better. The thing that has set me back the most has been the amount of practice hours I have not practiced as much as I would have liked to especially recently because of break and everything happening.

  1. Hi Kian! I think it's great that you've already started somewhat grasping the basics of guitar-playing, especially since starting a new instrument is very difficult to do. I think that you will be able to master the song by the end of the semester. Maybe you could watch a few videos online and see how other guitar players use rhythm and flow to add to their piece.

  2. Mastering one song, seems like a good goal. What song is it? I used to play guitar and it was a very tiring and gradual process that required a lot of time. I hope you're able to get to your goal and your time management. Good Luck

  3. wow kian trying to master a song, i am very impressed with how you have been doing. im still curious with what exactly this has to with helping the community. maybe take into account that other kids are not as privileged as you to have a guitar, move towards a more broad stand point on instruments in general.

  5. Flow and rhythm are definitely huge parts of playing guitar. They're also something that most people overlook when learning, I know I did. It took my older cousin telling me I'd always suck until I could get those down to get me to pay attention to those. Try tapping your foot to keep in time, good luck on your journey.
